Otters!!

This is the best news we’ve had since we’ve been here. Otters, there are definitely otters.

We’ve seen one twice, first it ran front of the mill and then up the waterfall, then it was swimming around in the lake. This caused great excitement and a wildlife/tracking excursion was embarked upon, up and down both sides of the river. To our delight there where many very smelly otter spraints and we even think that we have found one of their holts. The next step is an all night sit-in or sit-out I suppose, but we will wait for the nights to get a bit warmer first and fingers crossed………….
