Is it just me or have you noticed more people giving more away this Christmas?
The nice thing is that there seem to be a lot of people who want to give things away all the time. Maybe I'm just noticing it more because all the emails I'm receiving with giveaways have been headed "Christmas Gift" and such like.
Heck, I've even done it myself! Yesterday, I sent out an email to all my newsletter subscribers giving them a link to collect a 1-sheet on "Quick Presentation Structure". I received a flood of emails thanking me for it and sending good wishes to me and my family. It's lovely to get such messages from all over the world! I also had about 6 people immediately unsubscribe as a result of me sending out this gift. Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth. Some people can be so strange.
However, today I also received a larger number of new subscribers than on most days. I'd like to think this is the universe rewarding me from my generosity, but I reckon it's probably because people shared my gift with friends and they clicked through to my site.
What's also struck me lately is the quality of the information in the freebies I've received. This is great because it raises the bar for everyone and it means that the information we pay for must be SOOOO much better than what we get for free.
If you missed my gift, you can get the pdf download here. And remember that when you become a subscriber to my regular presentations newsletter, you'll also get my 101 Presentations Tips ebooklet which, I'm pleased to say, gets some rave reviews.
Dear,
Thanks so much for the very practical advice you present as tips in your newsletters.
They have been helpful to me and my team members who are always out to improve and hone our presentation skills
Keep up the good work and by the way we are gradually winning the war on nerves and the "goose bumps" are on the way out.
Regards to your family and the best of 2006.
